Apple News: New Products!!! [28 Feb 2006|06:38pm]
Steve Jobs walked off stage after presenting three new apple products and interesting additions to current applications to clapping. The new products are listed below with some details, links, and pricing. Hmmm, I wonder how that iPod Hi-Fi would do on the beach...

Mac mini - What once was great is now even better. The new improved Mac mini is up to four times faster than its previous model, still just 2 inches tall, and now comes equipped with Front Row. Could it get any better? Well, I suppose it always can, but what makes this kickass update even better is the differences in the two models. Both normal and high-end users were in mind when creating these new models, so no matter who you are you got something to choose from. To check out the specs of the new Mac mini just go to http://www.apple.com/macmini/ and take a look. With your Education Discount you save $20, enough for a late-night meal at the Saturn Café or lots of tea at Café Pergolisi.

Price: w/Edu. Discount - $579 / $779 SAVE $20 Orig. - $599 / $799

iPod Hi-Fi - Apple's response to the big stereo is this sleek, light, and well-crafted box o' sound. What is so cool about it is that is mobile, like 1980’s pre-West-Coast-East-Coast-rivalry-rap boom-box. Use this with any iPod you got and you are set to share your music with anyone in shouting distance, whether it be at home, at work, or out and about (it can work on batteries). It truly is the home stereo reinvented. To see more information on it and take a look at some pictures just go to http://www.apple.com/ipodhifi/ and peruse the page. With your Education Discount you save $20, enough for food at an eatery as referenced above, or a night out at the movies for two. I like the movies idea myself.

Price: w/Edu. Discount - $329 SAVE $20 Orig. - $349

Leather Case for iPod / iPod nano – If you don’t feel luxurious enough with your iPod already than Apple has an answer for you. Leather. While this may not be the best present for you vegan friends it is definitely a unique case for an iPod. Made for both iPods and iPod nanos these cases are also equipped with a simple black ribbon built into the case allowing easy tug-n-slide release of the iPod. To ogle at the leather cases visit http://store.apple.com and look them up under iPod Accessories. With your Education Discount you don’t save any money on this product…can’t be a winner all the time. ;-)

Price: Orig. - $99

Apple News: iTunes U. [28 Feb 2006|06:36pm]
iTunes U. is breaking out of its shell and is hitting the streets. In the next several months you will see a flurry of iTunes U. creations popping up all over the place, but what is more exciting for you is that UCSC is most definitely on that list of likely suspects. When iTunes U. and UCSC team-up we are likely to see video podcasts of the university, get up-to-date PDF delivery of information from departments, be able to listen to podcasts of current classes, download student created music, listen to special podcast from KZSC and Student Media, watch special showings from SCTV, and most likely dozens of other badass creations. How will you contribute to UCSC's iTunes U.? To find out more about iTunes U. check out it's page on Apple's site @ http://www.apple.com/education/solutions/itunes_u/ and to see a demo version of it in action take a gander at Stanford's edition @ http://itunes.stanford.edu/
